On November 23, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) Alumni Association established its American branch at a ceremony in Irvine, California. This is the 4th branch of the Alumni Association, following the establishment of the Singapore, Shenzhen and Hong Kong SAR branches.
Alumni Association Deputy Secretary-General Geng Jun, Communications and Public Relations Deputy Director Pan Feng, and UC Irvine School of Engineering Academic Innovation Programs Director Lily Wu joined U.S. Southwestern Chinese Students and Scholars Association (SWCSSA) representative Meng Yitong and more than 40 alumni at the establishment ceremony.
Deputy Secretary-General Geng Jun introduced the Alumni Association and the preparation behind the establishment of the American branch. She said that the US has the most overseas SUSTech alumni and hopes that the Alumni Association will become stronger as a result. It will continue to play an important connecting role between the alumni and the university.
Communications and Public Relations Deputy Director Pan Feng sent his best wishes for the American branch and hoped they would take the opportunity to have different activities to build a stronger home for exchange and cooperation.
UC Irvine School of Engineering Academic Innovation Programs Director Lily Wu restated the achievements of SUSTech alumni in the United States in a wide range of areas, congratulating the Alumni Association on the establishment of its American branch.
Meng Yitong introduced the work of the SWCSSA and sent her best wishes to the American branch of the SUSTech Alumni Association. She said she looked forward to strengthening exchanges, cooperation and common development in the future.
