Vice-President Wang Duoxiang extended warm welcome to Qi Yue and his fellows and introduced to them SUSTech’s educational philosophy and its reform and development history. He especially emphasized the construction planning of seven major schools and key disciplines, talent introduction, faculty and the system of production, teaching and research.

Vice President Wang Duoxiang said that SUSTech aimed to develop to a high-level international research-oriented university and a major national base for cultivation of talents in scientific and technological research and innovation. Based on the development philosophy of “research, innovation and entrepreneurship”, SUSTech welcomes Horae Oriental and other enterprises and non-governmental sectors with ambitions and resources to participate in the university’s construction and development, forming a new cooperative system of production, teaching and research. 

Mr. Chen Poujian presented Horae Oriental’s health care industry layout including the investment and operation in four major sectors, namely medical technology research and development, technological achievements transformation, health care services and health finance. He said Horae Oriental wished to cooperate with innovative and research-oriented universities like SUSTech in health care industry.

According to the framework agreement, based on the principles of “equality, voluntariness, mutual benefit and long-term cooperation”, SUSTech and Horae Oriental will jointly contribute to the discipline building and research and development in life science and medicine, accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and cultivate new industries and industrial clusters. Both sides agreed to jointly host the “Shenzhen International Life Science & Health Industry Summit” every year with SUSTech as the long-term forum venue. In order to strengthen cooperation, two sides will collaborate to carry out international education and promote international academic cooperation and communication through international branches of SUSTech and joint cultivation.
