On the afternoon of May 19, 2016, Hu Jianbo, President of Xi’an Eurasia University,  led a delegation to visit SUSTech for a symposium, expecting to exchange ideas on governance of modern universities, cultivation of creative talents and software and hardware informationlization construction.

In the meeting, Li Ming, Council Chairman of SUSTech, extended warm welcome to guests and expressed appreciation for their contributions to non-government funded education as well as for the achievements they had made.

Wang Dejun, Director of SUSTech Office of Education Affairs, introduced SUSTech’s teaching situation, and then Wu Yuewen, Director of SUSTech Office of Strategic Planning, briefed the visitors on the overall planning of SUSTech.

Later, President Hu Jianbo introduced the reforms Xi’an Eurasia University had initiated, saying that in the 20 years of its development, his university had survived and now was transforming from school-centered to students-centered. The university hoped to realize “self-governance of individual schools” and adopt practical, international and advanced educational concepts.

Qin Zheng, Vice President of SUSTech, expressed that a university could not achieve long-term development unless it found the way appropriate for its own situations, and that while exploring reform methods and advanced teaching theories, a university must preserve its unique characteristics and spirits.
