Earlier this week, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) completed the additional stages of annual comprehensive evaluation system of admissions continued with interviews and sport tests across twenty provinces and cities around the country.
More than nine thousand students qualified for these stages of the annual comprehensive evaluation system of admissions. SUSTech University Council Chairperson Guo Yurong attended the Inner Mongolia session with other senior SUSTech leaders, such as Vice Provost Huang Kefu, Secretary-General Chen Siqi and Chief Financial Officer Ye Qin.
Chairperson Guo Yurong led the SUSTech delegation to Hohhot No. 2 Middle School. She thanked all the teachers who spent the time interviewing potential students, as well as talking to some of the candidates and their parents.
Following her inspection, Chairperson Guo Yurong and the delegation met with Hohhot No. 2 Middle School Principal Wang Wenmei. They talked about the development of high-quality student bases and reforms for secondary education.
The Ministry of Education required a sport test as a component of university entrance exams. With that in mind, SUSTech determined that students would be assessed on three mandatory items and one optional item, giving students the flexibility to find something they were most suited for.
