On September 28, 2016, to study and carry out the guidelines put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping, SUSTech held an information session to promote the new philosophy, new thinking, and new strategy of state governance as required by the Publicity Department and Education Affairs Committee of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee. Du Xinshan, Head of the Lecturers Group of Publicity Department, was invited to the session as the guest speaker.

Citing ancient and modern examples, Du explained how to understand the connotation and features of the new philosophy, new thinking, and new strategy of state governance put forward by Xi Jinping, and talked in depth about how to implement them.

Du Xinshan pointed out that the new philosophy, new thinking, and new strategy of state governance were a complete whole, which were featured by people centeredness, sense of responsibility, vitality, pragmatism, and global vision.

Du Xinshan also gave three suggestions on how to follow through the new philosophy, new thinking and new strategy: build up consensus, focus on problems, and implement the new philosophy, new thinking and new strategy with certain standards.

It was reported that two more seminars on the topic will also be held in SUSTech in October.
