The end of July saw the College of Science at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) host the first International Symposium on Theoretical and Physical Chemistry (Symposium).
34 universities, research institutes and crystalline technology companies from mainland China and around the world came to SUSTech to discuss cutting-edge scientific issues in related fields like physics and chemistry. Dean Yang Xueming of the College of Science and Professor Li Juan from Tsinghua University served as conference chairs.
Dean Yang Xueming welcomed the experts to SUSTech and hoped that the Symposium would promote scholarly exchange in theoretical and physical chemistry. Head of SUSTech’s Department of Chemistry Zheng Zhiping briefed the audience about SUSTech and the Department of Chemistry.
Several academicians and fellows gave enlightening reports at the Symposium. The Symposium sought to provide a platform for academic exchanges in theoretical and physical chemistry by promoting interdisciplinary integration & the development of pre-theoretical and experimental methods in physics and chemistry.
