To practically strengthen the safety work of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) at the turn of the year, and further maintain campus safety and stability, on the morning of December 29, Qin Zheng, Vice-President of SUSTech, led a team of over 60 members, including safety supervisor sand officers of all schools, departments and offices, as well as all staff of the Office of Laboratory & Equipment Management, for a thorough campus safety inspection.

The team inspected key sites such as No. 1 research building, No. 2 research building, student canteens, the student center, all colleges, the mini fire station, Liyuan Campus (canteens and dormitories) and security points. The inspection covered laboratory safety, dangerous chemical safety, food safety, fire safety and student place safety. Qin required responsible units to correct spotted problems immediately to duly eliminate potential safety hazards. In the inspection, Qin listened to safety work reports carefully, speaking highly of the efforts of all relevant units in campus safety protection. At the student center, the team enthusiastically answered students’ questions about campus safety. Following the inspection, Qin organized a safety inspection review meeting at the No. 401 meeting room of the administrative building, praising units including the Department of Chemistry, the Department of Biology, the colleges and the library, and encouraging them to continue ensuring campus safety.
