On March 2^nd, the SUSTech Alumni Association held its first Alumni Conference and Council Meeting. President CHEN Shiyi, Deputy Council Chairperson LI Fengliang, Vice President WU Chuanyue as well as about 90 alumni were present. The conference was overseen by YE Qin.

In his opening remarks, LI Fengliang emphasized the SUSTech alumni values. Alumni Association is first not about donation, but communication; it’s not about those outstanding alumni, but about each and every one of them. Connecting with one another is not a mandate of the Association, but a shared goal of every SUSTecher.

The conference approved the Alumni Association Charter and Council Election Regulations of the First Alumni Conference, and elected 26 members for the first Council.

At the council meeting, WU Yuhan, an alumni representative and the first president of Shude College’s Student Association shared that once a SUSTecher, always a SUSTecher. Wherever he is and whatever he does, he always holds SUSTech dear to his heart. The alumni all agreed that the founding of the Alumni Association is a sound step for SUSTech to be a world-class university.

President CHEN Shiyi wrapped up the event by acknowledging the Alumni Association. The Association, he mentioned, is a venue for alumni to connect and share. Its founding means a great deal to SUSTech and its future development.
