On June 8th 2017, Wang Changrong, secretary of Taizhou Municipal Party Committee, and Ke Xin, deputy director of Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee, came to visit SUSTech. University Council Chairwoman Guo Yurong and President Chen Shiyi warmly welcomed Wang Changrong and his team. The two sides held talks in the administrative building’s 301 room where they discussed in-depth on future cooperation. Li Fengliang, Vice-chairperson of the University Council, Ye Qinliang, chief accountant Ye Qin, secretary general Wang Yongjie and other relevant heads of departments attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Chen Shiyi welcomed Wang Changrong and his entourage on behalf of the university. He gave an introduction on the development of the university, personnel training, discipline construction, teacher team, scientific research and enrollment and other developments. He said that SUSTech aims to cultivate the “entrepreneurial spirit of the scientists”, because technology only stands on the market if it assists humans. He then went on to say that he hoped Taizhou City can produce excellent high school students and send them to SUSTech, and that Taizhou entrepreneurs will invest in its outstanding research projects.
Li Fengliang said in his speech that SUSTech and Taizhou City are very innovative and pioneering places, and he hoped that the two sides build a strong relationship and achieve a win-win situation in areas such as transfer of technology, cultural construction, corporate cadres, personnel training and corporate image construction.
Wang Changrong then took over and presented the status of economic development in Taizhou, he stressed the need to promote the innovation and development of the city and “build a new Great Wall of science and technology”. He hoped that Taizhou City and SUSTech will cooperate in the transfer of technology, research institutes, foundations and other various other aspects.
At the meeting, the two sides also held in-depth discussions on environmental pollution control, personnel training, scientific research and technology transfer among many other aspects.
During the visit, the delegation visited SUSTech’s construction planning sand table and campus.
