Last weekend, Professor Zheng Chunmiao and Professor Liu Junguo from the School of Environmental Science and Engineering in SUSTech were invited to attend the first working meeting of the Provincial Instructive Committee of Environmental Science & Engineering Higher Education in Guangdong (the Committee), which was held at Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU). Professor Zheng Chunmiao was elected to be the vice- chairman of the Committee.

The meeting was hosted by the School of Environmental Science and Engineering in SYSU, which was meant to build the first-class environmental science discipline with the joint efforts and to design the high-standard courses with the innovation. The participants included all the committee members and the associated colleagues.

The Committee is currently composed with 26 professors and 8 experts from industrial sectors, who come from the top universities and institutions across the Greater Bay Area, such as SUSTech, SYSU, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Guangdong Provincial Academy of Environmental Science. Professor Qiu Rongliang from the School of Environmental Science and Engineering in SYSU is the Chairman of the Committee.
