On December 7 and 8, the Department of Biology at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) held its annual work conference, reviewing its teaching and research progress in 2019. Faculty members, researchers, and administrators attended the meeting that was chaired by Department Head Chen Wei.

Professor Chen Wei summarized the work of the Department in 2019. He pointed out that the Department received approval as a postdoctoral research flow station, completing a comprehensive talent training system from undergraduate through to post-doctoral level. Professor Chen Wei went on to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the Department.

Several faculty members and teachers received Best Teaching and Excellent Service awards. Professor Chen Wei presented the awards, along with Deputy Head Hou Shengtao and Guo Hongwei.

The conference also took the opportunity to exhibit academic posters and make presentations. The faculty members and researchers received significant praise from the attendees.

The Department of Biology continues to succeed and will develop further in the future.
