Recently, the Ministry of Education’s University of Biomedical Engineering Teaching Committee held its first conference of the year in Dalian. SUSTech’s Department of Biomedical Engineering Department Chair Professor Guo Xiangdong and executive chair Chen Fangyi were invited to participate.

At the meeting, as the only university representative, Guo Xiangdong gave the audience an in-depth report on the current biomedical engineering training program. He specifically introduced the program of biomedical engineering of the University of Columbia’s Biomedical Engineering department, and discussed the integration of biomedical engineering and how to meet the standards of the ABET certification in the process of designing the training program.

The Minister of Education, the director of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, the director of the Department of Education and the director of the Institute Wan Sai all said they were very impressed with Guo’s presentation and with the current situation in SUSTech and its leading role in biomedical engineering disciplines. They said they were looking forward to follow the developments of the university and work together to push forward the research in the field.
