CAS Academician lectures on innovative scientific research

On December 3, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) welcomed the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Academician and Beihang University School of Chemistry Dean Jiang Lei to campus. He came to give the 245th lecture in the SUSTech Lecture Series on “Three Levels and Eight Aspects of Scientific Research Innovation.”

Dean Jiang Lei was once the chief scientist of the National Nanoscience Center. He was elected as a CAS academician in 2009, a Fellow of the World Academy of Sciences in 2012 and a foreign fellow of the National Academy of Engineering (USA) in 2016. At present, he is also the dean of the School of Chemistry at Beihang University.

He has established a super wetting interface material and a super wetting interface chemistry system, and successfully realized the technical transformation of many achievements. So far, he has published more than 500 papers in high-impact journals and been cited more than one hundred thousand times with an H factor of 150. He is also the chairman of the editorial board of academic journal Small and serves on editorial boards of other journals.

Jiang Lei’s lecture was lively and humorous, explained in simple terms, the applause continued, and the atmosphere was warm. During the interactive session, Jiang Lei patiently and carefully answered the questions of the teachers and students.
