SUSTech uses IT experience to keep community safe

Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) has remained resolute in its commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy campus for the entire community. The IT Services Office has worked tirelessly in providing unique solutions for daily work while ensuring the well-being of everyone at SUSTech.

IT Services Office teamed up with the SUSTech 2019-nCoV Prevention Working Group to hold multiple meetings at the video conference center on campus. These meetings have ensured the safety and security of everyone on campus. The Working Group, led by University Council Chairperson Guo Yurong and President Chen Shiyi, will continue to meet regularly to consider new developments that impact the SUSTech community and its operations.

IT Services Office is now operating a 24/7 duty office to protect the SUSTech community in multiple ways through the Network Information Center. They have developed the optimal solution to maintain campus security, installing ID checking devices at specific gates to confirm the identity of people holding campus IDs. The Network Information Center is also providing access to a wide range of on-campus services if they are unable to return to campus. Those who are unable to access those resources are advised to contact the 24/7 hotline for assistance.
