On February 14, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) University Council Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang visited front-line medical staff at SUSTech Hospital. These doctors and nurses are working to prevent and control COVID-19. He was accompanied by the deputy director of the Preparatory Office of Affiliated Hospitals Wu Di. President of SUSTech Hospital Pei Guoxian and party secretary Wang Yude attended the event along with other officials.
SUSTech-affiliated, co-constructed, and teaching hospitals have been laboring hand in glove at the front-line of the battle against COVID-19. Other SUSTech units have supported this fight, reflecting the ongoing perseverance of SUSTech and Shenzhen as they struggle against the odds.
SUSTech Hospital president Pei Guoxian showed his appreciation to University for its ongoing support at the beginning of discussing the prevention and control work being conducted at the hospital. SUSTech Hospital selected personnel to promote the prevention and control of COVID-19, prepared wards for fever patients as well as maintaining strict internal controls that have ensured no infections within the hospital. They have also supported the work of the 2nd Affiliated Hospital of SUSTech (Shenzhen Third People’s Hospital), thereby further contributing to the city’s prevention and control of COVID-19.
Li Fengliang thanked SUSTech Hospital for their hard work and reminded them that they must maintain their high standards throughout this challenging period. It was also agreed that SUSTech Hospital would bring forward the second phase of construction, increasing the number of beds available to provide a wider range of healthcare facilities for the Shenzhen community.
