On February 26, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) University Council Chairperson Guo Yurong led a team into the laboratories of the Department of Biology, the Department of Biomedical Engineering, and the School of Medicine. Laboratories in all three schools and departments are heavily involved in the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Chairperson Guo Yurong received a detailed briefing at each laboratory that covered critical issues such as the implementation of safety measures and the progress of experimental research work. She encouraged the researchers and scholars to continue to maintain their safety through the application of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Chairperson Guo Yurong stressed the importance of sustaining the protective measures during this critical stage of prevention and control. SUSTech remains fully committed to providing effective support during this difficult time. The researchers and scholars should continue with their innovative scientific research and educational pursuits to minimize the disruption to the operations of SUSTech.
