On March 26, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) took the next step in its admissions work. SUSTech President Shiyi CHEN led a seminar to discuss the review of the current work and plans for the next stage. Vice President Dongxiao ZHANG attended the meeting with the leaders of each provincial admissions group.
The Office of Admissions discussed their innovative initiatives for undergraduate admissions during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic. They detailed the work they had done in their provinces, shared the experiences and swapped working methods, and reported on the plans for the next stage. Many regions have reported similar student applications to last year, with half reporting more registrations than twelve months ago.
President Shiyi CHEN said that the meeting was encouraging for everyone, and he hoped that all the admissions teams would be inspired by their colleagues to find new directions that could be adapted to their local conditions. During this challenging period, our innovative approaches will lay a solid foundation for cultivating creative future leaders.
Vice President Dongxiao ZHANG was understanding of the enormous challenges facing the admissions teams, and he hoped that they would keep striving to promote the online platforms for communicating with potential students.
