On April 12, 2021, Jinwang ZHANG, Counselor of Shanxi Provincial Government, and Fangqin CHENG, Vice President of Shanxi University, visited the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). Yusheng ZHAO, Acting Vice President of SUSTech, and Siqi CHEN, Director of the Office of Party Affairs and Administration, welcomed the guests as both parties held in-depth exchanges.

Yusheng ZHAO welcomed Fangqin CHENG and her delegation to SUSTech and gave a brief introduction on the University’s academic system, talent selection, scientific research platforms, and its scientific and technological achievements among other topics.

Jinwang ZHANG outlined the current cooperation between universities and enterprises in the innovative reform of the demonstration zone in Shanxi Province. He spoke highly of the achievements of SUSTech in the reform and development of China’s higher education system and hopes that both parties can strengthen their cooperation in the future.

Fangqin CHENG spoke about the development of Shanxi University over the years, its academic disciplines, and the development of its faculty. She noted the construction of the School of Synthetic Biology as an opportunity to further enhance cooperation with SUSTech in the future.

During their visit, Vice President CHENG and her delegation, which included heads of different departments of Shanxi University, also visited the Cryo-Electron Microscopy Center and the exhibition of development and achievements. They were accompanied by heads and representatives of various departments from SUSTech.
