On October 26, 2021, Lei LIU, Chairperson of the Shenzhen Women’s Federation (SWF), and her delegation visited the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech).

They were welcomed by Fengliang LI, University Council Chairperson, and other members of the SUSTech’s leadership team as they held discussions on various topics.

In his remarks, Chairperson Fengliang LI noted that SUSTech attaches great importance to women in science and technology. He said that they had played an integral role in the development of the University in the past ten years.

He hopes to strengthen cooperation with SWF further and continue to assist women in science and technology to make significant contributions to society.

Lei LIU acknowledged the achievements of SUSTech over the past ten years and praised the University for its recruitment of many female faculty members. She looks forward to strengthening cooperation with SUSTech, providing more support to female science and technology personnel in Shenzhen, and developing the talent pool in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Hong WANG, Dean of the Graduate School at SUSTech and Chairperson of the Shenzhen Women’s Association for Science and Technology, spoke about the association’s current state of affairs and future plans.

After the meeting, Lei LIU and her delegation also visited the SUSTech exhibition of development and achievements.

The event was also attended by Siqi CHEN, Director of the Office of Party Affairs and Administration at SUSTech, and representatives of SWF and the Shenzhen Women’s Association for Science and Technology.
