On April 22, 2022, Xiaodong WU, Mayor of Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, and his delegation, which included Tingchen CHEN, Deputy Mayor of Taizhou, visited the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech).

Qikun XUE, President of SUSTech, Chun LU, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, and heads of relevant departments welcomed the guests as they held discussions on various topics.

In his remarks, President Qikun XUE said that the city of Taizhou has provided strong support to SUSTech throughout its development and that the two sides have already established a good foundation.

President XUE said that Taizhou and SUSTech share many similar qualities. He hopes to strengthen cooperation in the future in areas such as automotive, electronics, medicine, etc., and accelerate the transformation of achievements to contribute toward the country’s high-level scientific and technological self-reliance.

Xiaodong WU acknowledged the rapid development and innovative achievements of SUSTech and discussed the current state of affairs in Taizhou.

He said that the two sides have realized a lot of achievements through their cooperation and formed a strong connection. He hopes to enhance collaborations with SUSTech in the fields of new energy, new materials, health and medicine, precision manufacturing, automotive, technology transfer, and talent training to upgrade Taizhou’s innovative industries.

After their meeting, Xiaodong WU and his delegation also visited SUSTech’s exhibition of development and achievements and the Taizhou-Shenzhen Innovation Center.
