Recently, the Consortium for Mathematics and its Applications (COMAP) announced the results of the 2022 Mathematical Contest in Modeling and Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (MCM/ICM).

Participating teams from the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) won two F awards (Finalist), seven M awards (Meritorious Winner), 27 H awards (Honorable Mention), and 59 S awards (Successful Participant).

A total of 15,105 teams from China, the United States, Australia, Canada, and other countries and regions from around the world participated in the competition.

In recent years, students from SUSTech have performed more prominently in the MCM/ICM. One of the key indicators of the University’s success is based on the increased number of F awards it has received year by year.

In 2021, students from SUSTech made a significant breakthrough by achieving their first F award. This year, the University has realized further success by receiving two F awards.

The MCM/ICM is an international undergraduate mathematical modeling competition jointly sponsored by the American Mathematical Society (AMS), the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), and other institutions. It’s one of the most influential mathematical contests in modeling in the world.
