Recently, the 11th Guangdong University Games was held at the South China University of Technology. Multiple members from the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) participated in the badminton competition of the games.
Keyang WANG, a master’s student at SUSTech, won the women’s singles championship, while Zhuoyun LI, an undergraduate student, placed fifth in the men’s singles, achieving a breakthrough for SUSTech students in the games.
On June 5, the Badminton Invitational University Tournament of Xili Lake, organized by the Nanshan District government, was held in the Lihu Campus of Shenzhen University (SZU).
Five teams from SUSTech, SZU, Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS), Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School (PKU Shenzhen), and Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) participated in the competition.
The SUSTech team emerged as winners of the tournament, and Fengliang LI, University Council Chairperson, accepted the award on behalf of the University.
Since the establishment of the SUSTech badminton team in 2018, a group of outstanding badminton players have achieved impressive results in major events around Guangdong province.
