The 4th National Congress of Plant Flowering, Senescence and Postharvest Biology was recently held at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech).
The event was jointly organized by the School of Life Sciences at SUSTech, the Key Laboratory of Molecular Design for Plant Cell Factory of Guangdong Higher Education Institutes, and the SUSTech-PKU Institute of Plant and Food Science.
More than 100 experts and scholars attended the conference, including Sanwen HUANG, Dean of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences (CATAS), Mingjie ZHANG, Dean of the School of Life Sciences at SUSTech, Jiankang ZHU, Dean of the Institute of Advanced Biotechnology at SUSTech, and Jiansheng LIANG, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Life Sciences.
In his remarks, Mingjie ZHANG spoke about the evolution and development of the School of Life Sciences, emphasizing that plant biology is one of the major research areas of the School of Life Sciences, and acknowledged recent achievements in plant biology research.
At the congress, the guests held in-depth exchanges on cutting-edge scientific issues and the latest progress in areas such as flowering, fruit ripening, post-harvest ripening, and the quality degradation process.
The Best Poster in the field of plant flowering, senescence and postharvest biology was awarded at the event. It was also announced that the next congress would be hosted by the School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences at Peking University.
This conference aims to build a platform for equal exchanges and cooperation between participants, and provide opportunities for the cultivation and development of talents in China’s botany-related fields.
