SUSTech’s Jiamu DU wins 2022 CSPB Outstanding Young Scientist Award

On September 28, the prize award ceremony of the 2022 Annual Conference of the Chinese Society for Plant Biology (CSPB) was held in Fuzhou.

Dr. Jiamu DU, Professor of the School of Life Sciences at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), was awarded the 2022 CSPB Outstanding Young Scientist Award.

Dr. Jiamu DU focuses on the research of molecular mechanisms of plant epigenetic regulation. He integrates the biochemistry and structural biology research approaches into the study of plant epigenetic regulatory mechanisms, conducting in-depth research in the plant epigenetic field, including histone modifications, DNA methylation, and transcription factors.

During the past several years, he has got several research achievements and published nearly 20 papers as a corresponding or co-corresponding author in international academic journals such as Science, Nature Genetics, and so on.

The CSPB rewards outstanding scientists and technological workers in the field of plant biology who have made important research achievements and promoted the development of plant biology in China.

The Outstanding Young Scientist Award is awarded to young scholars under the age of 42 who have made outstanding achievements and important contributions to plant science research, and no more than two winners are granted each year.
