SUSTech students receive multiple awards in 13th Challenge Cup Chinese College Students Entrepreneurship Competition

The 13th Challenge Cup Chinese College Students Entrepreneurship Competition finals were recently held in Beijing.

As the country’s largest and most influential college student entrepreneurship event, the Challenge Cup is known as the “Innovation and Business Olympics” for college students’ entrepreneurship.

The Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) walked away with a Silver and Bronze Award in the National Competition, marking the best result the University has achieved in the Challenge Cup.

The Ultrasonic Bone Scalpel project, consisting of team members Zhirui CHEN, Shibo ZHANG, Yang LIU, Haotian CAI, Bingjie LU, Yonghao PAN, and Yuya YUAN, all of whom are students from the Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering, won the Silver Award in the National Competition.

The ultrasonic bone scalpel is a medical device that uses the principle of high-intensity focused ultrasound to cut soft and hard bone tissues, which can be used in orthopedics, dentistry, spine surgery, plastic surgery, high-end pet medical treatment, and other areas.

The Yuliang Precision project consisted of team members Wentao ZHANG, Yufeng XUE, Jingyi LIU, Yangke ZHENG, and Hongkang ZHU, also students from the Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering, received the Bronze Award in the National Competition.

They proposed a magnetic composite fluid polishing technology with strong stability and a high removal rate that will optimize the surface polishing process of medical precision parts, and design an ultra-precision polishing solution for medical precision parts.
