SUSTech and Geely team up for advanced biomass gasification technology research and development project

On June 1, the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (ZGH) held a signing ceremony for the advanced biomass gasification technology research and development project at the University.

Fengliang LI, University Council Chairperson, Ke LIU, Dean of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at SUSTech, Yuan SHEN, General Manager of the Collaborative Innovation Center at ZGH, Hanru LIU, Chief Scientist of Zhejiang Geely New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group (GCV), and Yi HOU, Vice President and CHO of GCV, attended the ceremony.

Junguo LI, Research Associate Professor of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at SUSTech, and Yanpeng LI, Deputy Director of the Green Methanol Joint Laboratory of ZGH, signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties for the advanced biomass gasification technology research and development project.

Fengliang LI, Ke LIU, Yuan SHEN, and Hanru LIU witnessed the ceremony. Afterward, Ke LIU was appointed as a senior consultant of GCV.

The project will address technical difficulties related to the biomass gasification of municipal solid waste and develop an advanced gasifier that meets demand and can operate steadily for a long period of time. Additionally, it will develop related processes suitable for the gasification of municipal solid waste to produce green methanol and lay a foundation for demonstration projects.
