From July 27 to 28, the 1st China Gravity Satellite Measurement and Scientific Application Annual Forum and the 6th Satellite Gravity and Hydrology Forum were held at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech).
Hongwei FANG, Vice President and Provost of SUSTech, heads of related departments, and more than 200 researchers participated in the event.
At the forum, representatives from domestic and international scientific research institutions and universities, including the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Tsinghua University, Wuhan University, Tongji University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Sun Yat-sen University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), the University of Newcastle, Australia, etc., conducted in-depth exchanges on cutting-edge theories in the fields of gravity satellite measurement technology, space geodesy, hydrology, cryosphere science, and remote sensing, as well as the future development of China’s gravity satellites.
Jun LUO, Chief Scientist of the TianQin Project and Academician of the CAS, and Yun XIAO, Researcher at the Xi’an Research Institute of Surveying and Mapping, presented keynote reports at the forum.
In the exchange session, the participants held discussions on the research directions of satellite gravity load development, gravity field inversion, satellite gravity hydrology, and glacier and ocean applications, which are currently of high interest.
This event promoted academic exchanges among various domestic units on satellite gravity, the further cross-integration of satellite gravity and hydrology, expanded cooperation between researchers related to hardware development and inversion application, and helped advance the high-level development of China’s gravity satellite technology.
