Zhongde SHAN, President of the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), and his delegation recently visited the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) for research and exchanges.

Qikun XUE, President of SUSTech, welcomed Zhongde SHAN and his delegation, and summarized the work carried out by SUSTech and its future development.

He noted that SUSTech has developed and implemented “Three Major Development Strategies” and “Five Major Action Plans”, and strives to build a new type of research university with important global influence.

President XUE added that SUSTech and NUAA are both new research universities of science and technology, and they should learn from each other’s experience, strengthen communication and exchanges, cultivate more scientific and technological talents, and contribute to strengthening the country through science and education.

In his remarks, Zhongde SHAN acknowledged the rapid development of SUSTech and briefly introduced NUAA. He said that SUSTech has promoted internationalization and has valuable experience in exploring and building a new type of research university, which is worth learning from SUSTech.

He looks forward to strengthening exchanges and cooperation between both sides in the future, learning from each other’s strengths, and following the characteristics of SUSTech’s aerospace and civil aviation.

Hongwei FANG, Vice President and Provost of SUSTech, also gave an introduction of the development and running of SUSTech to the guests.

Zhongde SHAN and his delegation were also given a tour of the University, visiting the Institute of Robotics and other locations on campus.
