Ke LIU, Dean of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering (ATSE), and Yulong DING, Professor of the University of Birmingham and Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng), recently co-edited a special issue that was published in Engineering, a journal of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE).
Their work, entitled “Large-Scale Energy Storage for Carbon Neutrality”, was published in the October 2023 edition of the journal.
Junguo LI, Research Associate Professor of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at SUSTech, and Haoran ZHANG, Assistant Professor at Peking University, served as the executive editors.
Their work concentrates on the latest research results and progress in large-scale energy storage in the context of carbon neutrality. It focuses on how to realize the large-scale storage of renewable energy such as wind and solar energy, how to solve the large-scale integration of renewable energy into the grid and the safety and economic problems it faces, and how to improve the efficiency of power and district energy systems.
Founded in 2015, Engineering is the leading journal of the CAE. It is supported by UNESCO, the International Council of Academies of Engineering and Technological Sciences (CAETS), the National Academy of Engineering of the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and other countries, as well as domestic and international experts and scholars.
The journal aims to provide a high-level platform for the release and exchange of major achievements in engineering science, discuss hot topics, areas of interest, challenges, and prospects in engineering development, and encourage engineering breakthroughs and innovations that are of profound economic and social importance that benefits humanity and creates a new future.
