SUSTech’s Yinqian ZHANG receives 2023 CCF-IEEE CS Young Computer Scientist Award

The China Computer Federation (CCF) Awards Committee recently announced the recipients of the 2023 CCF-IEEE CS Young Computer Scientist Award.

Yinqian ZHANG, Professor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), received the award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to processor microarchitecture security and confidential computing.

Yinqian ZHANG joined SUSTech in 2021 and is also the Director of the Information Security Research Center at the Research Institute of Trustworthy Autonomous Systems (RITAS).

He has been committed to computer systems security research for a long time and is an international top expert in the field of computer microarchitecture security and confidential computing.

Prof. ZHANG has received numerous awards and honors for his academic contributions, including a National Science Foundation CAREER Award, a Rising Star Award from the Association of Chinese Scholars in Computing, and an ACM CCS Test-of-Time Award (the only Chinese scholar in mainland China)

He has also been selected as one of the Top 2% Scientists Worldwide by Stanford University, recognized by MIT Technology Review as a Privacy-Preserving Computation Tech Innovator in 2022, and a recipient of the 2023 Young Scientists for a Better Society.

The CCF-IEEE CS Young Computer Scientist Award is jointly selected by the CCF and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Computer Society (CS). It is awarded to young scholars who have made outstanding achievements and important contributions to computer fields.
