The Department of Education of Guangdong Province recently announced its list of first-class undergraduate courses for 2023.

A total of six courses from the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) were selected, including five in-person first-class courses and one hybrid first-class course.

The six courses selected were Data Structures and Algorithm Analysis, Morality and Rule of Law, Biochemistry I (Macromolecules), Thermodynamics and Statistical Physics I, English for Academic Purposes (EAP), and Fundamentals of Materials Science and Engineering.

SUSTech places great importance on advancing first-class majors and disciplines, aligning with recommendations from the Department of Education of Guangdong Province and the Ministry of Education for the development of first-class undergraduate courses.

Guided by the University’s “3-3-5” strategy, it will continue with initiatives to promote curriculum reform. These include establishing a prerequisite course system, implementing graded teaching, and introducing a course group leader system.
