The Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) has expanded its academic programs with the introduction of two new undergraduate majors: Industrial Engineering (120701) and Accounting (120203K).

Recently approved by the Ministry of Education for the year 2023, these additions reflect SUSTech’s commitment to providing students with comprehensive educational opportunities.

Industrial Engineering represents an interdisciplinary fusion of engineering and management principles. It aims to explore the study of optimizing complex systems through the application of engineering techniques and analytical methodologies, including quantitative analysis and strategic decision-making.

Similarly, the Accounting major combines the demands of modern enterprises and social development. Leveraging advancements in technology such as artificial intelligence, big data analysis, and machine learning, it allows students to intelligently process and analyze financial data.

With the inclusion of these new majors, SUSTech now offers a total of 39 undergraduate programs across five disciplines. These include 13 majors in science, 19 in engineering, three in economics, one in medicine, and three in management.
