SUSTech holds 2018 Graduates Employment Guidance Meeting

On September 13 2017, the 2018 graduates of the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) gathered in the first scientific research hall. Director of Residential College Han Wei, Chair of Mechanical and Energy Engineering Department Rong Yiming, Chair of the Department of Chemistry Zhang Xumu, director of Students Affairs Office Xue Zheng and the heads of other related departments attended the meeting which was presided over by Peng Zhonghua, executive vice president of the Shuren Residential College.

At the meeting, Han Wei gave a speech in which she highlighted the results of 2017 in terms of employment for SUSTechers, and said she hoped the 2018 graduates will maintain the high standards and ambitions of their predecessors.

Xue Zheng then took over to introduce the guidance on employment which include providing well-known companies with dedicated campus recruitment information, and regularly providing students with skills that they will need to look for and find a job.

Professor Rong Yiming and Professor Zhang Xumu then respectively introduced the methods and advantages of applying for further studies in colleges and universities overseas, and encouraged the youngsters to start now to prepare for their future.

It is the Graduate School Admissions Office that is in charge of the graduate enrollment and overseas training project policy.

2017 Chemistry graduate Liu Lingyu – who has been admitted to the University of Oxford for her PhD and 2016 Electrical and Electronic Engineering graduate Zhang Yue – currently in the SUSTech – University of Hong Kong Joint Program for further studies – joined on stage to share their own experience of studies and internships.
