At 2: 30 on September 5, the Department of Material Science and Engineering convoked the meet-and-greet with freshman at Room 408 of No.2 Scientific Research Building, the department principal Professor hosted the conference, and professors and freshmen of the Department of Material with total number of 43 persons attended the meet-and-greet. 

The Professor Cheng Xin introduced basic information, teaching features and development of the Department of Material. Then, 15 teachers of the Department of Material introduced their research fields and development trend, and the students also introduced their hobbies and research interests. Professor Xu Baomin and professor Wu Junhua encouraged students to care the learning opportunity and study hard, and pave a good foundation for becoming innovative talents in the future. After the conference, the teachers and students had a face-to-face communication.

Selection of the scientific research tutor was significant for undergraduate education, and was related to forming of scientific research stage of undergraduate stage. The meet-and-greet made teachers and students understand each other more, and helped students select the proper scientific research tutors.
