SUSTech Inceisa Synergetic Innovation Institute Set up

The signing, donation and opening ceremony of SUSTech Inceisa Collaborative Innovation Institute was held on January 16, 2018. The purpose of the institute is to upgrade high-end technology through the introduction of overseas advanced technology, market information and experts.

“The newly founded institute intended to be the identifiable entry point into university-industry collaboration, with strong support connections between companies and SUSTech, processes improvement, individual transactions facilitation and key sectors partnerships,”said Chairperson Guo Yurong.

Chen Biao, former vice mayor of Shenzhen, Wu You, Assistant Secretary-General of Shenzhen, Li Wangshou, the chairman of Synergetic Innovation Fund Management Company, Mao Qing, the chairman of Inceisa (Nantong) New Energy Equipment Manufacturing company, Guo Yurong, SUSTech University Council Chairperson, Chen Shiyi, SUSTech President and Tang Tao, SUSTech Vice-President attended the ceremony, which was hosted by Ye Qin, the Chief Financial Officer of SUSTech.

The ceremony also witnessed the introduction of three projects including aero-engine blade coating, titanium alloy precision molding, and a biomedicine project, which will further the process of university-business collaboration and improve the innovation capacity.

Wu You, on behalf of the Shenzhen government, said that the foundation of the institution was consistent with the trend of the integration of innovation, industry and fund, and provided a model for Shenzhen’s comprehensive innovation ecosystem development.

SUSTech Inceisa Collaborative Innovation Institute would promote the exchange between SUSTech’s and social resources in various ways, said the University Council Chairperson.

Li Wangshou noted that the signing ceremony highlighted the combination of SUSTech’s research strength and market orientation so as to develop promising industry and research projects.

SUSTech facilitates its engagement with industry partners through incubating platforms and a range of other relationships in areas including sponsored research, student projects, joint proposals and a variety of high-level talent recruitment activities.
