On March 1st, SUSTech leadership gathered at the International Conference Hall, to discuss how the university can improve their graduate employment rate. It is important that SUSTech ensures that its alumni have the greatest opportunities for employment and that a high employment rate of its graduates is an indicator of a world-class university.
Attendees believed that this conference would provide helpful suggestions to enhance students’ competitiveness. At the conference, university leadership presented their work reports of 2017, providing many helpful suggestions, and shared their employment experiences.
“Improving the employment rate is especially significant for an innovative university like SUSTech,” said Han Wei, Director of Residential Colleges. “There is a demand for strengthening cooperation of the administration and the academic departments, working together to improve SUSTech’s employment rate.”
In concluding the conference, Vice University Council Chairperson Li Fengliang pointed out that, “Our work should aim to improve the quality of the employment prospects of our students. Career development is an important matter for the university, and if the university is better at guiding its students, there should be an improvement in the employment rate of our graduates.”
