Recently, SUSTech started stage I construction of Phase II Campus Development to expand the area of our university. The construction of stages II, III and IV commenced last year and are due for completion in June 2019.
As part of the plan, the Phase Ⅱ construction will cover an area of around 440 thousand square meters, consisting of 19 buildings. The construction will see an increase in the number of laboratories, libraries, offices, and colleges, as well as new residential halls, conference rooms, multi-function halls, underground car park, and a new cafeteria, among the bevy of the building work. All this work will help meet students’ and faculty’s demand for teaching, researching, administration and residential life. Below is a small gallery showing some of the new buildings that will soon grace our campus:
Stage One: College of Sciences, School of Business, Public Teaching Building, and Icollege
Stage Two: Humanities Center, SUSTech Center, and Academic Exchange Center
Stage Three: College of Engineering
Stage Four: Library, Cafeteria, Residence Hall, and College
Sitting on a scenic stretch of land, surrounded by winding creeks and tree-lined hills, the campus will continue to enjoy a natural, tranquil environment. The architecture conveys notions of energy conservation and eco-friendliness. In the future, SUSTech will be a green and eco-friendly campus, and one of the most beautiful campuses in China.
Upon completion, SUSTech will cover an area of nearly 800 thousand square meters and meet the needs of 8,000 students on its completion by the end of 2019.
