On April 28, 2018, SUSTech’s Youth League Committee held the “Don’t forget why we started” activity to celebrate the National Youth Day in the lecture hall. The University leaders, academic deans, tutors, and guests from all walks of life gathered with students for the event.
Li Fengliang, Vice-Chairperson of University Council, extended greetings to the students. Afterward, the school committee recognized the excellent group and individual representatives who won 2017-2018 SUSTech awards. An Express Delivery Robot was invited to grant the award to the students as a special session. The Robot will deliver mail around campus, and is the result of the Student Entrepreneurial Program.
Several students addressed the audience and spoke about their dreams, before asking questions of the guests around the area of the theme for the day, to inspire them for their futures. After the meeting, the students said that the speech would bring a discussion about “their young hearts,” which inspired them to remember their emotions. They were also reminded of their missions on the road of seeking knowledge and endeavor, which is closely linked their personal outcomes to the rise and fall of the country, which is why it is important to remember the struggles of the early realization of the Chinese dream.
SUSTech’s Youth League Committee has carried out the theme of “To make a beautiful life on the way to innvation,”in order to further promote the “May Fourth” spirit of “patriotism, progress, democracy, and science.” Such an approach is intended to guide young students to establish correct beliefs. In addition to the youth speeches, the Youth League also successfully carried out activities such as helping teenagers to help the weak, the Fifth Regional Culture Festival and the 2018 Community Carnival.
