SUSTech has inked a series of agreements with the government of Taizhou City on January 15, 2018, which marked the first cross-region university-business-government collaboration of SUSTech.
Taizhou City, located in the middle coastal area of Zhejiang Province, is an exemplary area of China for innovation in the field of private economy, which is the most vigorous part and symbolizes the outstanding feature of Taizhou economy.
Chen Yijun, Party secretary of Taizhou, Jiang Bingfeng, deputy mayor of Taizhou, SUSTech University Council Chairperson Guo Yurong and SUSTech President Chen Shiyi attended the signing ceremony, which was presided over by University Council Vice-Chairperson Li Fengliang.

The Taizhou & SUSTech Innovation Center Cooperation Agreement, Taizhou & SUSTech Research Institute Cooperation Agreement and Donation Agreement were signed to cement further collaboration on education and innovation.
Guo Yurong said that the collaboration between the university and government will advance the development of SUSTech and boost the science innovation of Taizhou City.

Chen Shiyi also emphasized the significance of the university-business-government collaboration. He noted that this cooperation would be beneficial to the resource exchange between Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and the Yangtze River Delta.

Chen Yijun hoped it could help Taizhou city introduce high-level talents, work with frontier technology and develop high-quality educational resources, so as to improve innovation and further the industry upgrading program.

The signing of the agreement is a positive step towards all-round cooperation in various fields with Taizhou City. SUSTech will continue to work with Taizhou government for further implementation of the agreements.
