In the view of deepening classroom teaching reform, optimizing teaching methods, improving teachers’ education standards and establishing a platform for mutual learning and communication among SUSTech’s young teachers and thus promoting their growth, SUSTech held the second Teaching Competition of Young Teachers on December 23rd, 2017 and the results were recently released.
27 young teachers participated in this competition, for which the panel of judges consisted of 27 individuals including department heads, senior professors, external experts and student representatives.
After on-site scoring and commenting by the panel of judges, 13 winners emerged; Chen Yimao from the Mathematics Department and Matthew Jellick from the Language Center won the Grand Prizes; 4 young teachers including Liu Lisha, Yan Shuo, He Zhubing and Zhang Jin won the First Prizes; and other 7 young teachers including Sheng Yue, Liu Chang, Lai Shufang, Li Yanyan, Xu Siqun, Xu Tingting and Hao Qi won the Second Prizes.
President Chen Shiyi made a concluding remark at the end of the competition. He fully affirmed the teaching quality of SUSTech’s young teachers and expressed his hope that the mathematics competition can mobilize the teaching initiative of young teachers and further improve SUSTech’s overall teaching standard.
