Earlier this week, Harbin Engineering University Party Secretary Gu Huanmin led a delegation to Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). The delegation was met by University President Chen Shiyi, Vice President Teng Jinguang and Director Chen Yongshun of the Department of Ocean Science and Engineering.

They discussed the cooperative projects between the two universities as they relate to oceanic sciences. President Chen welcomed Mr. Gu Huanmin’s delegation and expressed his desire to continue cooperating with Harbin Engineering University to develop their ocean science and engineering disciplines jointly.

Gu Huanmin said that Shenzhen has the ability to build a world-class ocean science and engineering discipline. Harbin Engineering University and SUSTech complement each other in a strong way when it comes to marine engineering, so they can leverage their respective strengths to help each other. He hoped that Harbin Engineering University would be able to continue to cooperate with SUSTech in the future.

Both sides agree to cooperate on scientific research, talent cultivation, building laboratories, and various other aspects. They also agreed to discuss and reach a consensus on other matters, and determined the goals and measures they would need to meet for the next stage of cooperation.
