Shenzhen, June 29 (SUSTC) –Ma Xingrui, Member of the Central Committee, the deputy Secretary of CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee , Secretary of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, visited SUSTC.
Li Ming, Secretary of the CPC Committee of SUSTC, Chen Shiyi, President of SUSTC, members of the university’s leadership, department heads and faculty representatives attended the above activity.

Secretary Ma Xingrui, accompanied by Li Ming, Secretary of the CPC Committee of SUSTC and Chen Shiyi, President of SUSTC, , visited our campus and made a survey on the university’s construction.
Ma also visited the SUSTC Thermoelectric materials laboratory, one of the Shenzhen Key Laboratories and listened to Professor He Jiaqing’s report about the laboratory.

Li Ming, Secretary of the CPC Committee of SUSTC, made a report to Secretary Ma on the the land utilization problems of second phase of construction, the progress and work plan of the bid for the UNESCO Type II education agency.
Chen Shiyi, President of SUSTC, made a report to Secretary Ma on the goals and missions of SUSTC, planing of the discipline development, talent recruitment, students develop and campus building, etc
The Seminar enjoyed a warm atmosphere. Secretary Ma cares a lot about the running of SUSTC . He also had cordial interactions with the university’s leadership and the faculty representative and provided the specific suggestions and guidance.
Secretary Ma pointed out that education is one of the major livelihood issues. The vocational education and elementary education have achieved good results, but the development of Shenzhen’s higher education need to have the strategic planning and construction. He emphasized that Shenzhen will accelerate the construction of the city’s high-level universities and continue growing the local high education and make it stronger, which have become the city’s topmost priority.
Secretary Ma suggested that SUSTC could establish close cooperation with China’s top universities and build a high-level medical school, which will provide strong support for SZ’s Medical and Health Services development in the long run. Ma also suggested that SUSTC could set up a School of Humanities for developing the Chinese culture.
