The First Teaching Competition for Young Teachers Held Successfully in SUSTech

On June 4, 2016, the First Teaching Competition for Young Teachers was held successfully in SUSTech. The aim of this competition was to deepen the reform of classroom teaching, improve teaching method and teaching level, and promote the development of young teachers by setting up a platform for mutual exchanges and learning.

Attaching great importance to this competition, SUSTech specially set up an organizing committee. The judges were made up of university leaders, deans,  representatives of the teaching staff and the students, and experts from outside SUSTech.

Young teachers enthusiastically participated in the competition. Twenty six participants were divided into the theory group and the experiment group. According to the live scoring of the judging panel, 12 teachers won prizes, including 2 grand prizes, 4 first prizes and 6 second prizes. Other participants were awarded honorable mention.

At the end of the competition, president Chen made a speech. He highly appreciated the teaching quality of the young teachers, and hoped that through this kind of teaching competition, young teachers’ enthusiasm for teaching could be motivated and the overall teaching standard could be improved.
