On March 16th, the University organized an open-air viewing of the documentary “Amazing China,” and more than one thousand faculty members and students attended the event. University Council Chairperson Guo Yurong and Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang watched the documentary with students.

CCTV and China Film Group Corporation jointly produced “Amazing China.” The documentary shows the progress China has made since the 18th CPC National Congress, covering multiple key Chinese infrastructure projects in aerospace, high-speed rail, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the world’s largest single-dish telescope FAST and the ultra-deep-water semisubmersible drilling rig “Blue Whale II,” as examples of impressive achievements in economic development and technological innovation.

Cultural innovation, environmental protection, urban-rural integration, medical care, and social security were other areas that the documentary addressed. The documentary highlights that Chinese people will always strive to create a bright future and improve the country through hard work.

The students and faculty are so proud of the achievement China has made in such a short period and expressed their pride and love for the country through social media. As a member of SUSTech, we shall continue to work harder to contribute to our country.
