On 20th March 2018, the National Chemistry Olympiad team finished their training programs ahead of the selection of 4 students to represent China at the 50th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO).

The International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) is the world’s largest and most influential chemistry competition for middle school students. At the 49th IChO in 2017, nearly 300 students from 76 countries and areas took part, with the Chinese team achieving three gold medals, one silver medal, and the team was ranked second overall.

The training took 17 days, and SUSTech ensured that the training ran smoothly through the two and a half weeks. All team members took part in 17 lectures, two training sessions on experiments as well as four exams – two theoretical and two practical.
