October 17 saw Yunnan University’s Yang Lin visit to Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). University Council Chairperson Guo Yurong, University President Chen Shiyi, and University Vice President Lu Chun met with the delegation.

Yang Lin and his entourage first visited the 3D campus construction sand table where they learned about the school’s overall planning and development.

Chairperson Guo Yurong welcomed the arrival of Yang Lin and his party. She introduced the development of the University, as well as how SUSTech builds its team of talents. Guo Yurong focused on the implementation of the basic concepts and guidelines of the overall leadership and modern university governance of SUSTech.

Yang Lin expressed appreciation for the development strategy of SUSTech. He spoke about the development history of Yunnan University. He said that Yunnan University is in the midst of a new opportunity for historical development and hopes to learn from the development experience of SUSTech.

Chen Shiyi praised the development opportunities of Yunnan University. He combined the regional advantages of Yunnan University to put forward suggestions on attracting talents, institutional mechanisms and strengthening inter-school cooperation.

Lu Chun went into detail about the development, characteristics and discipline construction of SUSTech.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed a variety of cooperation matters. Yang Lin and his entourage went to the Cryo-Electron Microscopy Center, the Lakeside Residential College and other places for field visits following the meeting.
