Beijing Institute of Technology President visits SUSTech

Saturday morning saw the president of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhang Jun come to Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech).

President Zhang Jun brought a delegation to SUSTech, where he was met by SUSTech President Chen Shiyi. Other members of the BIT delegation included leaders from Beijing and Shenzhen MSU-BIT University, while SUSTech also had key leaders in attendance.

President Zhang Jun and his party first visited the 3D campus construction sand table, where President Chen Shiyi briefed them on the development of SUSTech.

Later in the morning, President Chen Shiyi discussed how SUSTech operates in a variety of areas. He indicated that SUSTech has continued to strengthen its ties with industry across Shenzhen, and wanted to strengthen its exchanges with BIT.

President Zhang Jun acknowledged SUSTech’s achievements in recent years. He said that BIT and SUSTech are similar in many ways. President Zhang Jun hoped that SUSTech would cooperate with the newly opened Shenzhen MSU-BIT University so they would develop together.

The delegation also visited the Cryo-Electron Microscopy Center, the lakeside residential colleges and the hydrogen energy laboratory.
