Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) collaborated with Runyang Group to host the SUSTech-Runyang 5G industry development strategy seminar (The Seminar). The SUSTech Education Foundation (SUSTCEF) worked with the Technology Transfer Center and Runyang Group to host the Seminar, while the Departments of Electrical and Electronics Engineering & Computer Science and Engineering teamed up with the School of Microelectronics to organize the Seminar. More than 70 representatives from industrial and investment institutions, along with experts and scholars involved in the 5G industry, attended the Seminar.
Runyang Group Vice President Tang Xiping, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Head Sun Xiaowei, Computer Science and Engineering Head Yao Xin, Research Professor Zhang Guojun at School of Electronics, and SUSTCEF Director and SUSTech Secretary-General Tu Ronghui all attended the Seminar with top officials and leaders.
Technology Transfer Center Director Zhang Zuotai presided over the Seminar. He briefed the attendees about SUSTech’s research on 5G and its relationship to the recent State Council Statement about Shenzhen. Director Zhang Zuotai added that SUSTech would continue to carry out interdisciplinary research cooperation with Runyang Group to contribute to integrated industry-university research in Shenzhen.
Sun Xiaowei, Zhang Guobiao, Yao Xin, Zhao Weilai and Hu Xin spoke about the latest ideas and technical achievements in 5G while interpreting the opportunities and challenges faced by 5G commercial consumers in the first year.
SUSTech Secretary-General Tu Ronghui said that the Seminar is a good start, and that SUSTCEF will continue to organize more forums with enterprises in order to strengthen industry-university research cooperation.
This 5G Industry Development Strategy Seminar is the fourth of “SUSTech Forum” and the first in a series on industrial development. It aims to combine the advantages of SUSTech with the technological achievements of leading enterprises to build interdisciplinary knowledge sharing and information platforms. In the future, SUSTCEF will also hold a series of exchange and sharing activities to strengthen the interaction between schools, enterprises and cities, and contribute to the integration of industry-university research in the Greater Bay Area.
