Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) has continued to show its prowess on the sporting fields in Shenzhen, defending its title for a 3^rd consecutive time to earn four straight titles as the top dog in University Town.

Over the last 70 days, SUSTech has competed in nine major and 23 minor events, incorporating faculty members, students, and staff, competing in 176 individual events over seventy days.

This year’s awards ceremony took place at Green Pine Capital Stadium at SUSTech with University Council Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang joining his compatriots from other universities such as the Shenzhen Graduate School of Tsinghua University and Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen).

SUSTech Secretary-General Chen Siqi also attended the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Li Fengliang spoke about the importance of forming a more profound understanding between competitors, similar to that of the Olympic spirit. The University Town Sports Tournament also promotes physical activity among the students of its constituent colleges and universities, which further enhances the scientific and technological output of the area. By working together, Li Fengliang anticipated that SUSTech would continue to cooperate with the other universities in University Town, to develop high-quality talent pipelines through Nanshan District for the broader benefit of the Greater Bay Area and the nation.
