On July 9, the Center for Computational Science and Engineering (CCSE) at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) announced the recipients of its annual Qiming and Taiyi Star User Award. Eight students and researchers from different disciplines won the award for their outstanding research outcomes from their use of the two supercomputing clusters, Qiming and Taiyi.
The award promoted the best utilization of the two clusters. The users took this opportunity to exchange their experience and achievements.
At the ceremony, CCSE Director Lianping WANG offered his congratulations to the award winners, introduced the staff of the center, and encouraged open discussions to promote a stronger working relationship between the users and the center. Attendees spoke about the importance of using the supercomputing clusters in their research. They provided valuable suggestions to further enhance the user experience and develop stronger collaborations between the academic units and the center.
The Center for Computational Science and Engineering was established in October 2018. They mainly manage the public supercomputing platform for SUSTech while providing services to supercomputing cluster users. They aim to prepare SUSTech researchers to better use the supercomputing clusters, gradually build the necessary infrastructure to manage the clusters and foster application-oriented talents.
